# Gather validation

## Environment

- Xcode 27.0 (27A266a), iOS Simulator 27.0, Swift 6 language mode.
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 17e simulators; arm64 debug builds.
- No external packages, servers, credentials, or remote imagery.

## Automated results — September 15, 2026

**16 tests passed, 0 failures on iPhone 18 Pro. Two additional journey runs passed on iPhone 17e after the final layout refinements.**

- 12 unit tests: required-feature filtering, combined requirements, unknown metadata, budget ranking, unavailable venues, incomplete preferences, private-result gating, partial/unknown-user ballot rejection, tie handling, all-pass handling, transition validation, SwiftData round-trip, and vote invalidation when ideas change (some tests cover multiple cases).
- 4 UI tests: solo Gather creation; Home → voting → consensus → confirmed plan; Home accessibility audit; complete voting journey at accessibility XXXL text size.
- Native accessibility audit includes contrast, element detection, touch regions, descriptions, and traits. The audit ignores contrast findings only for elements whose frames overlap the native translucent tab bar; those partially obscured elements are checked through scrolling/visual review rather than treated as fully exposed text.
- Fixed issues during validation: calendar actor isolation; test target testability; secondary text contrast; active-plan button accessibility trait.
- Primary action moved above recommendation browsing to reduce steps to voting.

Result bundle (local, gitignored): `.build/Logs/Test/Test-Gather-2026.09.15_00-00-13--0500.xcresult`.

Smaller-device result bundle: `.build/Logs/Test/Test-Gather-2026.09.15_00-40-06--0500.xcresult`.

## Visual review

Home was visually inspected in light mode and dark mode with Increase Contrast enabled. The final plan was reviewed from UI-test screenshots. Original illustrations, semantic surfaces, text hierarchy, and tab-bar behavior render correctly. Screenshots are included in `Screenshots/`.

Largest-text review prompted two additional fixes: primary buttons give text their full width without a competing icon, and plan state transitions scroll back to the heading. These changes were retested on the smaller iPhone 17e.

## Scope and remaining manual checks

The tests verify interaction reachability at the largest text size; they do not establish a complete VoiceOver, Switch Control, or Voice Control certification. Manual assistive-technology review on hardware, physical-device haptics, calendar permission allow/deny flows, landscape, and iPad remain release QA. SwiftUI previews are included and compiled; interactive Xcode canvas rendering has not been separately verified.

No live venue feed, reservations, remote group collaboration, push notifications, widget extension, or Live Activity is shipped. The app explicitly labels its local sample content. The map area can require network tiles; the planning and voting flow does not.

Xcode emits an informational App Intents metadata-extraction warning because the app does not define App Intents. No Swift compiler warnings or errors remain in the validated app build. The Simulator runtime successfully launches Gather; this environment does not include the standalone Simulator GUI application.
